Bru-C is a Nottingham vocalist and MC who has become one of the most recognisable voices in UK bass music. Working across drum and bass, bassline and garage, he brings a melodic, song oriented approach that sits somewhere between MCing and outright singing, and it has taken him a long way beyond the traditional MC role. His collaboration with Bou on "You & I" was one of the breakout crossover records of the modern dancefloor scene, and he has since worked with a long list of the biggest producers in UK bass. His writing is rooted in his own life and city, which gives the material a directness that pure hype vocals never have. Live he fronts his own headline shows rather than simply guesting on someone else's set, a rare position for a vocalist in this world. Bru-C is central to the current crossover between drum and bass and the wider UK bass scene.
