James Lowe has been one of RAM Records' most reliable weapons since the late 2000s, a producer whose tracks are built with a kind of engineering precision that makes them impossible to mix badly. "Bunker" and "City Bass" became instant DJ tools, tightly arranged, enormous in the low end and stripped of anything unnecessary. His sound sits in the sweet spot between the technical end of the genre and outright dancefloor function. There is real musicality in his writing, but everything is in service of the drop, and that combination has made him a permanent fixture in the record bags of DJs at every level of the scene. Beyond his own releases he has worked closely with the wider RAM family and contributed remixes across the label's catalogue.
