D Double E
D Double E is Darren Dixon from Forest Gate in east London, one of the MCs who built grime and one whose roots run back to jungle. In the 1990s he was DJ Dan in Bass Inject with Terror Danjah and DJ Tempo, and in 1998 the pair founded Reckless Crew, a jungle and drum and bass collective that held a residency on Rinse FM. He went on to N.A.S.T.Y Crew and then Newham Generals with Footsie, signed to Dizzee Rascal's Dirtee Stank. His ad-libs and flows on Street Fighter Riddim, Bluku Bluku, Lovely Jubbly and Wolly made him a cult figure, Skepta has called him the greatest of all time, and Dizzee credits him with inspiring him to pick up a mic. His albums run from Bluku Bluku in 2011 to Double or Nothing in 2020, the later ones released through his own Bluku Music.
