Ben Hall and Simon James first crossed paths at Nottingham University in 2003 -- Simon bringing a traditional musical background and Ben a passion for sound engineering. After graduating and reuniting in London, they began producing together, and their debut release appeared on Viper Recordings' acclaimed Acts of Mad Men compilation in 2009. The following year they signed to Andy C's RAM Records, and their debut single "Space Time / Take The Stairs" earned nominations for Best Track, Best Producer, and Best Newcomer DJ at the 2010 Drum & Bass Arena Awards. Delta Heavys sound sits at the heavier, more cinematic end of the drum and bass spectrum -- massive basslines, dramatic builds, and a production polish that reflects their engineering backgrounds. Their debut album Paradise Lost arrived in 2016 on RAM Records, followed by Only in Dreams in 2019, which featured collaborations with Zeds Dead, Modestep, and Muzzy. Their 2012 single "Get By" broke through to the UK Indie Chart, demonstrating their ability to craft tracks with crossover appeal while maintaining underground credibility. As part of the RAM Records family alongside the likes of Chase & Status, Sub Focus, and Wilkinson, Delta Heavy have established themselves as reliable festival headliners with a reputation for technically precise, high-energy sets. Their music has been featured in film and television soundtracks, and their dual expertise in musicality and sound design gives their productions a visceral, widescreen quality. They remain one of the most consistent acts on one of the genres most important labels.
