DJ Stretch
Genres: Drum & Bass, Jungle
A veteran of the original jungle era, DJ Stretch started out at local clubs and house parties before falling in with Marc Mac and Dego of 4Hero at Reinforced Records. That connection put him on the road as 4Hero's support DJ across the UK, Europe, Japan and the USA. His best known production, Worries In Da Dance, was first aired at the AWOL club and later signed to DJ Ron's A London Something label. With Reinforced's backing he set up A-Ko Recordings in the mid 90s, a short run of seven releases that included the jungle favourite Hungry Tiger. The brand returned in 2014 as AKO Beatz, a home for new and established jungle producers that has worked with names including Goldie, Double O and Mantra, and AKO150 followed to reissue golden era material. A 2021 documentary, AKO Beatz 25 Years In The Jungle, marked the anniversary. His sets draw on both that early catalogue and the newer producers his labels support.
DJ Stretch has 1 upcoming drum & bass event(s) listed on DNBRAVE.
