Drumsound & Bassline Smith are a Derby act made up of Andy Wright and Ben Wiggett, who work as Drumsound, together with Simon 'Bassline' Smith. They met at a club night in the city in 1998, cut dub plates for the Technique nightclub, and a year later launched Technique Recordings, which has released their own work and a long roster of label artists ever since. Odyssey was named Mixmag's tenth best dance anthem of 2004, Close won Best Track and Best Video at the 2012 Drum & Bass Awards, and Through the Night with Tom Cane and What Can You Do For Me with Utah Saints both reached the UK top 40. Albums include Nature of the Beast, Wall of Sound and Wardance. Their DJ sets lean heavyweight and dancefloor focused.
