Flowdan
Genres: Drum & Bass
Born Marc Veira in London in 1980, Flowdan came up through the jungle and drum and bass scenes of the mid-1990s before becoming one of the founding architects of grime. As a member and co-founder of Roll Deep -- the East London collective he personally named -- he helped shape an entire genre alongside Wiley, Dizzee Rascal, and others. His deep, commanding vocal delivery set him apart from the start, earning him a reputation as one of the most distinctive MCs in UK music. Though best known for his grime roots, Flowdan has never been confined to one sound. His collaborations with The Bug on tracks like "Skeng" and "Jah War" became cornerstones of the dubstep movement, while his work across drum and bass, jungle, and dancehall has kept him relevant across multiple generations of bass music. That versatility reached its apex with "Rumble," the 2022 collaboration with Skrillex and Fred again.. that became a global phenomenon. In February 2024, "Rumble" won the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Recording, making Flowdan the first UK MC to win a Grammy. The achievement was all the more remarkable given that Veira had been grafting in the underground for nearly three decades before mainstream recognition arrived. Still a formidable live presence, he brings decades of experience and an unmistakable baritone to every stage he commands.
Flowdan has 0 upcoming drum & bass event(s) listed on DNBRAVE.
