Frederick Vahrman, born in 1990 and raised in Exeter, Devon, first made his mark as one half of Fred V & Grafix, the duo that became a flagship act on Hospital Records throughout the 2010s. Together they released acclaimed albums including Recognise (2014), blending soulful melodies, uplifting rhythms, and intricate drum patterns into a sound that helped define a new wave of liquid drum and bass. When the duo amicably parted ways in late 2018, Fred V embarked on a solo career that has only expanded his creative horizons. Remaining exclusively signed to Hospital Records, Fred V released his debut solo album Radiate in 2021, a 15-track collection featuring collaborations with Lottie Jones, Zara Kershaw, and SAYAH that showcased his growth as a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. His second album, Luminous, followed in June 2024, earning praise as his most accomplished work to date with collaborations spanning Hybrid Minds, Laura Brehm, and Dan Dakota. Both records demonstrate a producer who brings genuine musicianship -- vocals, guitar, keys -- to every arrangement. Fred V occupies a unique space in drum and bass as a true singer-songwriter working within electronic music.
