Harry Shotta

Genres: Drum & Bass

Growing up in Gravesend, Kent, Harry Shotta found solace in the boom bap-infused hip-hop of the 1990s during a tough childhood. After earning a degree in Commercial Music at the University of Westminster, he began attending live events and fell head over heels for drum and bass. One fateful summer at Notting Hill Carnival, he was invited on stage as a guest MC -- the crowd reaction was so electric it set the course for his entire career. Within six months he had won Best Newcomer at the National Drum and Bass Awards, quickly followed by the coveted Best Lyrical MC title. Harry is widely regarded as one of the fastest and most technically gifted MCs ever to touch a microphone. In 2017 he entered the Guinness Book of World Records for Most Words in a Single, beating Eminem with his track "Animal." Beyond drum and bass, he has released acclaimed hip-hop projects through High Focus Records, including his mixtape "Twelve Months" and an accompanying book that explored the stories behind each track. His razor-sharp lyricism sits comfortably across genres, from rapid-fire bars over rollers to introspective storytelling over boom bap beats. On stage, Shotta is a force of nature -- a relentless lyrical machine whose crowd control and freestyle ability have made him a headline act at events across Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, and beyond. Whether hosting a rave for thousands or delivering an intimate hip-hop set, his versatility and sheer vocal stamina set him apart from every other MC in the game.

Harry Shotta has 7 upcoming drum & bass event(s) listed on DNBRAVE.
