Jay Cunning is a London DJ, label boss and music business operator who grew up in Wembley, got hooked on pirate radio in 1988 and 1989 and learned to mix in New Zealand in 1993. Radio has been a constant: Lush FM from 1998 with DJ Luck, Groovetech, Ministry of Sound radio, a weekly breakbeat show on Kiss FM for about four years and a Friday show on Kool London for around five years to 2017. He was resident for Ram Records at The End for four years until the club closed, and for Gatecrasher at Heaven. In 2009 he founded Sub Slayers, a multi-genre underground label known for future jungle at around 140 BPM, and since 2013 he has run On The Rise Music with Terry Hooligan of Atomic Hooligan. His sets move across jungle, drum and bass, breaks, garage and old skool hardcore.
