Kenny Ken

Genres: Jungle, Drum & Bass

Born Ken Delsol, Kenny Ken was working for London Transport when Crazy Larry's, an early Sunday morning rave, gave him his first break in 1989. Residencies followed at the Crazy Club at Busby's, sharing the bill with Ray Keith and Jumpin Jack Frost, then at AWOL, World Dance, Telepathy and Sunday Roast, while pirate station Centreforce carried his early sets. He won the inaugural Jungle Sound Clash in 1994, held a Kiss 100 show from 1994 to 1997, and broke through on record with Everyman, a 1994 tune built on the Real Rock riddim. In 1997 he launched Mix & Blen', a fitting name for someone known for long, smooth blends, and later co-ran Planet Funk Recordings with DJ Mace. He has said reggae and hip hop beats are what drew him to jungle, and that grounding still runs through his selections. He is also stepfather to the drum and bass DJ Crissy Criss.

Kenny Ken has 5 upcoming drum & bass event(s) listed on DNBRAVE.
