Originally from Luton and now settled in Bristol, Kirsty Clarke records and DJs as Kyrist and runs her own label, Kynetic Sound. Her reputation was built on Dispatch Recordings, where the Antidote, Fragment and Bad Omen EPs and the limited Venomous release mapped out a dark, technical take on drum and bass. Since then her music has also appeared on Minor Forms, with Dial It Up and Takin It Back, and on Overview with the Plexus EP. Kynetic Sound puts out other producers as well as her own work, with records from Revaux, Clearance and Ed:it & Creatures in its catalogue. In a club she favours stripped back, heavyweight rollers with an industrial edge, and her bookings have included Let It Roll, Boomtown, Outlook and Glastonbury.
