Tony Colman co-founded Hospital Records in the mid 1990s and has spent the decades since shaping drum and bass from both sides of the desk. As London Elektricity he has released a run of albums including Pull the Plug, Billion Dollar Gravy, Syncopated City and Yikes!, records marked by live musicianship, wit and a refusal to take the genre's conventions too seriously. His work as a label boss may be the larger legacy. Hospital developed High Contrast, Logistics, Netsky, Danny Byrd, Camo & Krooked and many more, and the Hospitality event series became one of the most successful brands in the music. His Hospital Podcast has run for hundreds of episodes and functions as an ongoing document of the scene. The London Elektricity Big Band takes the material into full live territory with a jazz ensemble, one of the most ambitious things anyone in drum and bass has attempted. He is a producer, a curator and an institution.
