Maduk is one of the founding figures behind Liquicity, the Dutch platform that grew from a YouTube channel into a record label and a festival, and in doing so became the single biggest gateway into liquid drum and bass for listeners worldwide. His own productions defined the house style, all uplifting chord progressions, warm sub bass and rolling, unhurried drums. His album Never Give Up gathered the melodic, optimistic sound that Liquicity had made its signature, and his DJ sets carry the same feel, favouring euphoria and momentum over aggression. He has worked with a long list of vocalists and remains one of the most recognisable names in the melodic end of the genre. Liquicity Festival has become a pilgrimage for fans of the sound, and Maduk's role in building it makes him as important as a curator as he is as a producer. He is a central reason liquid drum and bass found a global audience in the streaming age.
