MC Flux
Genres: Jungle, Drum & Bass
MC Flux, real name Carl Rodney Thomas, learned his craft on the reggae sound systems of the 1980s, winning a youth title at the Reggae Young Sounds competition before the rave scene came calling. Through the early 1990s he became a first choice host for Fabio, Grooverider, Jumping Jack Frost, Randall and Mickey Finn, working events such as Innovation, Dreamscape, World Dance and Helter Skelter. Moving Shadow signed him as resident MC for its Voodoo Magic nights, and he was later drawn into the Metalheadz circle, hosting Goldie, Bailey and Kemistry and Storm. Flux has always described himself as a host rather than a rapper: he reads the room, calls the drops and keeps the energy up without burying the music. His 2015 memoir Dirty, written with Pete Nice, tells the story of his rave career alongside the harder years that ran parallel to it.
MC Flux has 4 upcoming drum & bass event(s) listed on DNBRAVE.
