Sam Langley Grattan makes jungle at footwork speed. Born in Scotland and raised in Yorkshire, where he came up through the Leeds underground, Samurai Breaks is now based in Bristol and works at around 160 bpm, folding the syncopated kick patterns of footwork into chopped breakbeats and jungle bass. DJ Mag named him Breakthrough Producer at its 2021 Best of British awards. His catalogue runs across Born On Road, home of The Wickedest EP, Pete Cannon's N4 Records, Off Me Nut, Time Is Now and Critical Music, and he linked with Critical boss Kasra on the Cobalt EP. Alongside D'tch he co-runs Super Sonic Booty Bangers, a label and party brand that has hosted its own Boomtown stage takeovers. In the booth he is fast, playful and breaks heavy, and he often goes back to back with peers such as Kasra and Fixate at festivals including Boomtown and Glastonbury.
