Born in Birmingham and now based in Manchester, Sl8r makes and plays drum and bass and jungle as part of the city's newer wave. He joined V Recordings in 2018 after Back Roll on RSTLSSNSS, and his V output includes the Temptation EP, Framed with Alibi (2023), the jungle-tinged roller Times Change / Now or Never, The Pillar and collaborations with Slay and Chimpo, as well as mixing Chronic Rollers Vol. 4. He has also released on Hospital, Shogun Audio, 31 Recordings, Dread Recordings and Philly Blunt. His range runs from synth-driven liquid to heavy club tunes with garage touches, and he has gone back to back with Bryan Gee at Glastonbury and played Fabric, the Warehouse Project and Sun and Bass.
