Carlos Lima was born in Brazil and made his name in London, becoming one of the most versatile producers in drum and bass. His Hospital Records debut What the Future Holds showcased an artist equally capable of soulful, vocal led material and dark, rolling dancefloor tracks, and the range has defined his career since. He has released across Metalheadz, Hospital and Critical, three labels with very different identities, which says most of what needs saying about his adaptability. His production is meticulous, with a depth in the low end and a warmth in the mix that has earned him deep respect among other producers. As a DJ he plays across the full spectrum of the genre, and his sets are known for their pacing rather than for constant peaks. S.P.Y is one of the modern era's genuine craftsmen.
