Nick White and Chris Garvey have spent more than a decade as one of drum and bass's most dependable dancefloor duos, first through Viper Recordings and later through their own Get Hype imprint. Their debut album City of Gold set the template, pairing enormous, festival scaled drops with hooks strong enough to carry a main stage. Their production sits at the heavier, more anthemic end of the spectrum, and their remix work has taken in artists well outside the genre, bringing drum and bass energy to material that had none. As DJs they play with the pacing of a duo who have spent years reading big rooms. The Prototypes are a fixture of UK festival bills and one of the acts that helped establish the modern template for what a drum and bass main stage set sounds like.
