Mark Wilkinson emerged from the South London scene and signed to RAM Records, where he built a reputation for drum and bass with genuine pop instincts. His 2013 single "Afterglow" broke into the upper reaches of the UK singles chart and became one of the tracks that introduced a whole generation to the genre, backed by the debut album Lazers Not Included. Hypnotic and Cognition followed, each leaning further into vocal led songwriting while keeping the rolling, euphoric drums that define his sound. He developed one of the strongest live band setups in drum and bass, performing with drums and vocalists rather than relying on a DJ set, and that show has taken him to festival stages across the world. His 2020 collaborative album Portals with Sub Focus paired two of RAM's biggest names for a record and tour that played to the strengths of both. Wilkinson continues to occupy the space where drum and bass meets outright euphoria, and few producers write a bigger chorus.
