Drum & Bass Events in Birmingham

38 upcoming drum and bass events and raves in Birmingham.

Digbeth is where Birmingham raves now, but its jungle history starts on Corporation Street. The Que Club opened in 1989 inside the Grade II listed Methodist Central Hall, and while techno ruled the main hall, nights such as Pure X, Quest and later Music First carried jungle and drum and bass through the nineties with local MC Bassman a fixture. Kool FM ran a Midlands sister station from the city until 2002, and the region gave the genre two of its founders in Goldie, born in Walsall and raised in Wolverhampton, and Doc Scott. Most of today's clubs sit within walking distance of each other in Digbeth. LAB11 on Trent Street is the big warehouse, with a rooftop floor and promoters like DNB Collective; SUKi10C on Bordesley Street is a converted pub holding around 150, known for its rig and a licence that can run to 7am. Club Colette and XOYO share Lower Trinity Street, and GASWRX fills part of a 1909 gasworks on Adderley Street. Away from Digbeth, the Tunnel Club sits beneath a railway line on Livery Street and the Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath books smaller nights.
