Drum & Bass Events in Bristol

50 upcoming drum and bass events and raves in Bristol.

Few cities shaped the sound as directly as Bristol. Roni Size grew up in St Andrews around the Wild Bunch sound system and, with Krust, DJ Die and Suv, founded Full Cycle and its sister label Dope Dragon. London's V Recordings was set up by Bryan Gee and Jumpin Jack Frost partly to release this crew's music, and its first two records came from Krust and from Size and Die. Reprazent's New Forms then took the 1997 Mercury Prize ahead of Radiohead and The Prodigy. The ragga and jungle thread runs on through Born on Road, the Bristol collective Aries and Kelvin 373 started in 2012. Stokes Croft is the old heart: Lakota has traded since 1989 in a converted brewery on Upper York Street, and the Attic Bar at the Full Moon faces the bus station. Clock Factory on Union Street books more drum and bass than most, Document in St Judes handles big warehouse shows, Basement 45 fills vaulted cellars on Frogmore Street and Thekla is a converted cargo ship in the harbour. Most of these are 15 to 20 minutes on foot from Temple Meads.
