Drum & Bass Events in Camden Town

Upcoming drum and bass events and raves in Camden Town.

Camden is a London district rather than a city, and its nightlife grew out of live music: punk and indie at the Electric Ballroom and Dingwalls by the lock, and the old Camden Palace, now KOKO. The Electric Ballroom stands beside Camden Town tube on the High Street and dates back to 1938, when Bill Fuller opened it as the Buffalo Club; it reopened in 1979 with a 2 Tone bill headed by the Specials and has since hosted Joy Division, the Ramones and Iggy Pop. Its regular Saturday is LOOP, a weekly party night of anthems, house, R&B and throwbacks, so drum and bass there arrives as one-off takeovers instead, such as Planet V, the events arm of V Recordings, running D&B, jungle and liquid rooms across the Ballroom and Camden Courtyard. Round the corner on Parkway, the Jazz Cafe, open since 1990, has booked jungle and D&B names including Roni Size, Dillinja and Ray Keith. Camden Town station on the Northern line serves all of them.
