Drum & Bass Events in Sheffield

17 upcoming drum and bass events and raves in Sheffield.

Sheffield's contribution to bass music runs deeper than most cities its size. In the 1990s pirate stations broadcasting from council tower blocks carried jungle across the city, and DJs such as Stav, Eazy D and TK pushed drum and bass on air and in the clubs. Niche on Sidney Street later gave the world bassline, the speed garage offshoot sometimes named after the club, until a police raid shut it in 2005. The Kabal parties, held in chapels, warehouses and under the Wicker Arches from 2001 to 2016, folded jungle into reggae, house and techno. Today the D&B lives mostly in converted industrial buildings. FORGE, a former Victorian steel forge on Effingham Road beside the Tinsley Canal, holds up to 1,000 and hosts Unity Underground, a jungle and drum and bass night powered by RAZE Sound System. Network on Matilda Street, three rooms on a Martin Audio rig, runs jungle and bass nights between gigs and tribute shows, and Hazy Club on Eyre Street, the old CODE building, hosts Commune's extended back to back sessions. Network is about ten minutes on foot from the railway station.
