440, also billed as 4Forty, opened in September 2025 in a disused brewery at 72 Friday Street on the industrial edge of Leicester city centre. Resident Advisor lists a full Funktion-One system and a capacity of 300 indoors, rising to 700 with the open air courtyard, though some visiting promoters such as Heavy Red bring their own rigs. Drum and bass runs every month at the in house 440 Rollers night, which leans towards minimal and deep rollers, and Contrary Motion books D&B lineups, while FATHOM, Deeper Sounds and Invicta Audio cover dubstep and bass. Nights are 18+ and some set last entry as early as 11pm, so check your ticket before turning up late, and bring a layer for the courtyard in the colder months.
