Switch and AIR share a corner of Sherwell Arcade on North Hill, directly across from the University of Plymouth campus, which explains a crowd that is heavily student. Switch is the indoor club, running until 6am, while AIR is the open-air bar beside it, with DJs most nights, a long cocktail list and summer day parties. The weekly calendar is themed nights of indie, rock and party anthems plus student-only Fridays and Saturdays, so bass music arrives through visiting promoters rather than a house residency. Aura Bass picked the venue to launch their D&B nights, with Dispute on the decks. Cheap student drink deals are the long-standing draw, and the outdoor space comes into its own in warm weather.
