Albert Hall
City Centre, 27 Peter Street, Manchester, M2 5QR
Built in 1910 to a design by W. J. Morley for the Manchester and Salford Wesleyan Mission, the Albert Hall on Peter Street is a Grade II listed former chapel whose upstairs hall keeps its original organ, stained glass and curved balconies. Brannigans nightclub held the lower floors for two decades until 2011; the Trof group then bought the whole building and reopened it in 2013 after a restoration costing around 3.5 million pounds, with Albert's Schloss on the ground floor. The main hall holds roughly 2,000 and mostly hosts gigs, but it regularly turns into a club after dark, and the Transmission series brought Andy C and David Rodigan's Ram Jam here. Adam F returns with a live band to mark 30 years of Colours and its breakout single Circles, with Harry Shotta on the mic. Standing is on the main floor with seating in the balcony above, and St Peter's Square tram stop is a few minutes' walk away.
Albert Hall has 1 upcoming drum & bass event(s) on DNBRAVE.
