Bear Cave

Bear Cave is the cellar beneath Bear's Bar & Venue at 24-26 Holdenhurst Road, towards the Lansdowne side of Bournemouth town centre, and on most nights it belongs to rock, metal and punk bands, with a smaller second stage in the bar above. The room is low and close, more beer cellar than nightclub, which suits the occasional jungle and drum and bass takeover, such as Southbound Presents bringing its JUNGLE A.N.L night down the stairs. Upstairs there is a pool table, a free to play Nintendo 64 and toasties from the in-house kitchen, Dead Tasty Toasties, and regulars rate it as one of the most welcoming late bars in town, with beer at reasonable prices. The way down to the cellar stage is not obviously signed, so ask at the bar if you cannot spot it.
