Beaver Works is a raw industrial warehouse on Whitehouse Street in Hunslet, a converted Victorian bed factory on an estate south of Leeds city centre that has been putting on parties since 1997. Big nights open up to four rooms, including the main warehouse and a basement, plus two large outdoor areas, and the low end comes from Infra sub bass bins that reviewers consistently describe as very loud and heavy. The programme is promoter led and bass heavy, and drum and bass sits alongside dub, garage, psytrance and techno through nights such as Subdub, now in its 28th year of dub and jungle, Crossy Presents and Rise. Getting home needs planning: the last bus from Brookfield Street goes around 11.40pm at weekends and there are no night buses, so book a taxi. The bar takes cash and card, and the basement is not step free.
