Bedford Esquires
60A Bromham Road, Bedford, MK40 2QG
Esquires has carried that name since March 1990, though music was already happening in this converted 19th century Methodist chapel on Bromham Road in the mid 1980s, when it was the Greyfriars International Centre. Britpop era bookings by The Thirst Club brought through bands such as Muse and Coldplay, and some of the main stage speaker cabinets reportedly came from The Rolling Stones' Steel Wheels tour. Since Gareth and Louisa Barber took over in 2016 there have been three spaces: a 300 capacity main stage up a flight of stairs, Holy Moly's, a 180 capacity downstairs room that hosts the club nights and DJ sets, and a free entry bar with a pool table. Bass music slots in among the gigs, with UK garage pioneer Zed Bias on the bill. Weekend club nights downstairs are 18+, and the main stage has no step free access.
Bedford Esquires has 0 upcoming drum & bass event(s) on DNBRAVE.
