Concorde 2
286A Madeira Drive, Brighton, BN2 1EN
Concorde 2 sits in the Madeira Shelter Hall on Brighton seafront, part of the listed Victorian Madeira Terrace below Kemptown, a building that has been tea rooms, a 1960s bikers cafe and a 1970s amusement arcade before opening as a venue on New Year's Eve 1999. The name carries the legacy of the original Concorde, where Norman Cook's Big Beat Boutique began in 1995. It holds about 600, with the main room on an L-Acoustics system and a back room with its own bar and a screen relaying the stage, and reviewers rate the sound and lighting from anywhere on the floor. Drum and bass and jungle are a regular part of the late programme, from Kanine and Born on Road to Culture Shock and Holdtight with Congo Natty. Club nights start around 11pm and only a physical passport or driving licence gets you in, and there is no re-entry.
Concorde 2 has 6 upcoming drum & bass event(s) on DNBRAVE.
