On the third floor of 80 to 84 High Street, Doppler Studio describes itself as a small room with a big system, with no VIP and no filler. It is one of the few spaces in Leicester set up for underground club nights, programming house, techno and bass music. Its in-house series carry most of the drum and bass: Jungle 4Eva gives four hours to jungle and breaks, Fadeout covers drum and bass in its many forms, and Baltimore Club nights take the room somewhere else entirely. Outside promoters hire it too, and those who have say the team is accommodating and flexible enough for vendors, custom drinks menus and projected visuals. From the floor, reviewers keep returning to the same things: a sound system out of proportion to the room, friendly staff, cheap drinks and a crowd that mixes well. Capacity is limited, so advance tickets are the safer bet. Saturday sessions typically run from 11pm to 3am.
