Engine Rooms is on the West Quay Road industrial estate in Southampton, near IKEA and the cruise terminals, in the building that was the Mo'Club until the MJR Group renovated and reopened it in December 2014. It bills itself as the city's largest independent grassroots venue, with a room that configures for roughly 400, 600 or 800, and reviewers consistently rate the sound and acoustics. Touring bands fill much of the calendar, yet D&B has a long track record here: Sub Focus, Hybrid Minds and Hedex have all played, and the On A Mission series stages its Halloween and New Year's Eve D&B parties here. Security is thorough on the door, some D&B nights close entry early, so check your ticket, and there is ground level parking out front. The venue is wheelchair accessible throughout.
