Edinburgh's drum and bass crowd has been climbing Victoria Street to number 9C for years, from Hospitality's visits in the 2010s to the Contrabass parties that still book the room. Listed here under its older plural name, the venue is one large floor for around 650 people, with a balcony upstairs, the main bar facing the stage and a smaller basement space called The Annexe. Contrabass have teamed up with Hooked for D&B nights here, and Nightvision run regular club nights with guests like Kyle Starkey. Step-free entry is via a side door on Andersons Close that opens straight onto the main floor, where there is also an accessible toilet, and stools can be arranged by emailing ahead for anyone who cannot stand all night. Bring a passport or a full or provisional driving licence, as no other ID is accepted at the door.
