O2 Academy Oxford

190 Cowley Road, Oxford, OX4 1UE

Cowley Road's red-brick Edwardian landmark was designed by Harry Wilkinson Moore and built in 1907 as a hall for the Oxford Co-operative Society, hosting dances and political meetings long before it was a music venue. It traded as The Venue, reopened in November 1995 as the Zodiac, a cornerstone of the Oxford gig circuit, and was relaunched by Academy Music Group in 2007. Downstairs, the main hall holds a little over a thousand, while the upstairs Academy2 takes around 430, so the building can run a club night and a gig at once. Drum and bass bookings are headline names: Shy FX, whose Original Nuttah helped define jungle, plays here, as does the fast-rising Fish56Octagon. The access team draws repeated praise from reviewers for sorting companion tickets and early entry ahead of the night, and the venue is a short bus ride east of the city centre.

O2 Academy Oxford has 4 upcoming drum & bass event(s) on DNBRAVE.
