Two years after losing its Tottenham Hale home, The Cause reopened in full at 60 Dock Road, Silvertown, in January 2024. The new site sits in the Silver Building, a creative workspace a few minutes from West Silvertown DLR, and it is a meanwhile use on a temporary contract, so founders Stuart Glen and Eugene Wild have never pretended it is permanent. Five rooms scale from around 60 to 1,000 depending on how an event is set up, plus a large outdoor courtyard. Martin Audio and Noise Control Audio supply the sound, with lighting by Sensory Studio. Charity fundraising has been built in since 2018, with Mind in Haringey, CALM and Help Musicians UK among the beneficiaries. Drum and bass usually arrives inside multi room nights: Bass Face runs 360 degree D&B rooms next to garage, grime and house, and crossover acts such as Mandidextrous turn up on harder bills. Visitors repeatedly rate the acoustics and the sprawl of spaces to explore. Long waits at the bar on sold out nights are the common gripe.
