The Warehouse
19-21 Somers Street, Leeds, LS1 2RG
Opened in a disused warehouse on Somers Street in 1979, this Leeds club was programming dance music before the Haçienda existed, and in the 1980s its stage gave early gigs to Depeche Mode, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and The Stone Roses. It was later home to the Vague nights. A refit brought a new sound system and lighting, and the building now splits into a bar and food floor upstairs, the main club floor downstairs and a separate room called The Loft. That last space is where most of the drum and bass lands, including the weekly DVOTION Tuesday sessions, while bigger weekend bookings have ranged from Shy FX and Kings of the Rollers to Crucast's CruClash. Club capacity is quoted at roughly 1,000. Reviews agree the sound is strong and the bar staff attentive; the toilets, the crush to reach them on packed nights and drink prices draw repeated complaints. Bring change for the paid cloakroom, plus photo ID, since Challenge 25 applies.
The Warehouse has 6 upcoming drum & bass event(s) on DNBRAVE.
