Unit Nine
9 Bridgeturn Avenue, Old Wolverton, Milton Keynes, MK12 5QL
One room, one sound system and roughly 500 people sharing it: that is the whole format at Unit Nine, a converted industrial unit on Bridgeturn Avenue in Old Wolverton, within walking distance of Wolverton station. The club works with the OTD (On The Decks) promoters and academy, and for its size it lands remarkably big drum and bass names. Andy C, Hedex, Hybrid Minds and Turno have all played, and the calendar keeps returning to headliners of the calibre of Delta Heavy and Sigma. Not every night is D&B, though. Trance nights and daytime Raver Tots family raves share the diary, and with no second floor the whole building follows that night's music policy. Reviewers rate the sound and lighting, and describe door and bar staff as polite and respectful, with a crowd that mixes younger and older ravers. Heat is the one consistent complaint, especially in summer, so dress light. A covered smoking area outside has seating and its own small bar.
Unit Nine has 8 upcoming drum & bass event(s) on DNBRAVE.
