Riddim Culture runs this one deliberately without a headline name, so the whole night rests on Manchester residents plus one university student who wins a slot through the promoter's DJ competition. It doubles as the warm up for Mannyfest and lands mid Freshers week on a Thursday, at £5 for students, 18+, with the doors shutting to newcomers at 01:00. Rebellion has been going on Whitworth Street West since 2013 and keeps two bars across its two floors, including a screen in the upstairs bar showing the stage for anyone sitting out a set. A useful first D&B night for a fresher who has not worked out where the Manchester scene actually drinks yet.
